Trevor Venter
Trevor Venter is the Chief Executive Officer of Optron Geomatics. Trevor has over 20 years’ experience in the geomatics and location-based industries. He joined the company in April 1995 after having spent ten years at the Chief Directorate of Surveys and Mapping, South Africa.
Trevor holds a National Diploma in Surveying and a 1st class degree in geomatics from the University of Cape Town. Trevor is also registered as a professional land surveyor with PLATO.
Terry Mackey
Terry Mackey is Optron’s Chief Financial Officer. Terry joined Optron in 1993. Prior to joining Optron, Terry had 20 years of experience as a director of companies sub-contracting in the building and civil engineering industries.
Terry holds a degree in civil & structural engineering and a diploma in financial management.
Charles Meyer
Charles Meyer is Optron's National Sales Manager. Charles has 21 years’ experience in the geomatics industry and joined the company in January 2003 after running his own successful survey practice.
Charles holds a National Diploma in Surveying, is registered as a Surveyor with PLATO and is a member of the South African Geomatics Institute.
Stephen Koekemoer-Brown
Stephen joined the company in February 1997 and currently holds the position of Business Development Manager: SP Nikon as well as that of Marketing- and Operations Manager (Central Sales Region).
Stephen holds a National Diploma in surveying (with distinction) from the Tshwane University of Technology and was the recipient of the Merit Award for that year. He has lectured part time and the Tshwane University of Technology and has written various study guides on the topics of “Map Projections” and “Least Squares”, which is still being used at various tertiary institutions.
Faan Malan
Faan Malan is Optron’s Human Resources and Quality Assurance Manager. He has over 20 year’s executive experience in human resources as well as transformational and strategic management. He acted as project leader in various restructuring exercises in the Public Service. Apart from delivering consulting services in the security environment he researched and wrote a handbook: “Ethics and Leadership: In Business and Politics” during 1999-2001 to be followed by lectures for the University of Tshwane on the same topic. He joined Optron during July 2001.
Faan holds an Honours Degree in Criminology, a Masters Degree in Psychology and registered as a Psychologist during 1976 in the then University of Pretoria.
Corne Swanepoel
Corne became part of the Optron team during December 2009, and was appointed in a permanent capacity as Supply Manager with effect the 1st August 2010.
Apart from academic schooling, he has 16 years of logistics and supply chain experience and held various managerial positions in this regard. Special achievements include the implementation of efficient processes resulting in cost savings.
Jochem Erasmus
Jochem Erasmus joined Optron in 1998 where he is currently holding the position of Manager: Technical Support and Training Services.
He graduated at the University of Pretoria and registered as a professional land surveyor in 1992 with PLATO. His studies were completed with a bursary from Transnet and he worked for them, first as a land surveyor in training and from 1992 as a professional land surveyor doing cadastral surveys for six years.
Jochem was introduced to the Trimble products at an early stage and his years of experience have given him the perfect background when it comes to Technical support and training. He is also responsible for the Optron Service Centre.
