Founded in 1983, MDL is a privately-owned, UK-based developer, designer and manufacturer of eye-safe, laser-based, time-of-flight measurement systems used in scores of applications where speed, accuracy and safety are paramount. 

MDL designs and builds rugged, reliable laser based ‘field' measurement ‘tools' for use in all environments. MDL's products range from simple laser modules to complex 3D laser surveying and imaging systems. A number of MDL's products have become "industry standard" e.g. the Quarryman® 3D laser rock profiling systems used in hard rock mining operations.
